The Missile Ignition v3 Leather Jacket is a top-level racing sport jacket derived directly from MotoGP, incorporating the highest levels of advanced racing technology for the ultimate in protection performance, comfort, and style. The jacket’s new construction incorporates a new, 7cm slim, sport Aero-hump that fits perfectly with Alpinestars new S-R10 road racing helmet, the perfect jacket for riders on super naked bikes and sport bikes.
Packed with additional protective technologies, the jacket has seamless DFS, phantom black shadow protectors in TPU on the external shoulders and Alpinestars Nucleon PLASMA Pro Level 2 armor on the shoulders and elbows. With the layered upper arm design, the jacket offers the ideal, optimized aerodynamic shape perfect for racing. Engineered to deliver the highest level of active race protection; the jacket is Tech-Air® Ready and is Tech-Air® Compatible with the new Tech-Air® 7x Airbag System. How does the Missile V3 Ignition Leather Jacket fit, and which size should I choose?
The Missile V3 Ignition Leather Jacket has a race fit with pre-curved arms, designed around the sport riding position. Stretch panels across the chest, inner arms, shoulders, upper back, armpits, and waist support movement, while the extended back provides additional coverage when leaning forward.
The Black White variant is listed in men's sizes 44–62, in two-size increments. Compare your measurements with the Alpinestars size guide and check the fit with your intended layers. The shoulder and elbow armor should remain correctly positioned without restricting movement. If using an airbag, also follow its fitting and deployment-clearance instructions.
Can I wear the Missile V3 Ignition Leather Jacket with Tech-Air® 7x?
Yes. The Missile V3 Ignition Leather Jacket is Tech-Air® Ready and explicitly specified as compatible with the Tech-Air® 7x Airbag System. Tech-Air® Ready does not mean an airbag system is included with the jacket.
Follow the Tech-Air® 7x instructions for compatibility, fitting, and required deployment space when choosing your jacket size and setting up the system.
What CE rating does the Missile V3 Ignition have, and are chest and back protectors included?
The Missile V3 Ignition Leather Jacket is CE-certified as a Category II riding garment to EN 17092-3:2020, Class AA. It includes Nucleon PLASMA Pro shoulder and elbow armor certified to EN 1621-1:2012 Level 2, plus external DFS TPU shoulder protectors. Class AA is the garment classification; Level 2 refers to the shoulder and elbow impact protectors.
Chest and back protector inserts are not included. The fixed mesh liner has compartments for optional Alpinestars Nucleon divided chest and back protector inserts, available as accessory upgrades.
Is the Missile V3 Ignition Leather Jacket waterproof?
No. The Missile V3 Ignition is a ventilated bovine leather motorcycle jacket without a waterproof membrane. Its waterproof inner compartment provides protected storage, but this does not make the jacket itself waterproof.
The detachable thermal liner adds warmth rather than rain protection. Do not rely on this jacket alone for wet-weather coverage.
How does the Missile V3 Ignition manage hot and cool riding conditions?
Localized perforations on the lower front, back, and sleeves promote cooling airflow during warmer sport rides. A fixed mesh liner supports comfort inside the leather shell.
For cooler conditions, the jacket includes a detachable thermal liner with 80 g insulation in the body and 60 g in the sleeves. Removing this liner reduces insulation for warmer rides, allowing you to adapt the jacket to changing temperatures.
